What admirable qualities and actions should I demonstrate in my life? - Admiration - TouchPoints
Hebrews 11:2Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.
Demonstrating deep faith in God is an admirable in God’s eyes.
Romans 2:13Merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight.
Romans 6:16Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.
Actively pursuing obedience to God and his ways is admirable to God.
Romans 14:17-18The Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too.
2 Timothy 2:15Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.
It is admirable to step out in faith to do works of service in God’s Kingdom.
Proverbs 12:22The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth.
Proverbs 31:30Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
Honoring and respecting God and upholding the truth are admirable qualities that enrich and support all our relationships.
1 Kings 3:28When all Israel heard the king’s decision, the people were in awe of the king, for they saw the wisdom God had given him for rendering justice.
Proverbs 12:8A sensible person wins admiration, but a warped mind is despised.
Ecclesiastes 2:13I thought, “Wisdom is better than foolishness, just as light is better than darkness.”
Wisdom and good sense are admirable qualities, not only to God but to other people too.
Proverbs 19:11Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs.
Having self-control and being patient and forgiving are admirable qualities.
2 Corinthians 9:13-14As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ. And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you.
Living generously in response to God’s grace is admirable.
Job 29:11-16“All who heard me praised me. All who saw me spoke well of me. For I assisted the poor in their need and the orphans who required help. I helped those without hope, and they blessed me. And I caused the widows’ hearts to sing for joy. Everything I did was honest. Righteousness covered me like a robe, and I wore justice like a turban. I served as eyes for the blind and feet for the lame. I was a father to the poor and assisted strangers who needed help.”
We are admired when our lives are filled with kind acts of service to others.
Mark 12:31“The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 13If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. . . . Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
Colossians 3:14Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
1 John 4:18-19Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first.
No admirable achievements or admirable qualities can substitute for love. Love is the most admirable quality of all. God showed us love in its fullest sense through Christ’s unconditional sacrifice for us (Romans 5:8), and our own love should overflow from the abundant love he has shown us.
