Can addiction involve more than substance abuse?

Romans 6:16Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.

We can be addicted to whatever or whomever we choose to obey, whether good or evil. The key to addiction is control—whatever motivates us is our master. Whatever controls our behavior is what we are addicted to.
