Why are accusations made against me? - Accusations - TouchPoints
Psalm 35:11Malicious witnesses testify against me. They accuse me of crimes I know nothing about.
We live in a world where our sinful nature urges us to look out for ourselves first. Those who live mostly for themselves will naturally blame others if it will keep them looking good. So don’t be surprised if you are accused unjustly and blamed for circumstances and events over which you have no control. Jesus himself was often falsely accused.
Matthew 5:10-11“God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.”
John 15:18-19“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.”
Those who follow Jesus can expect to be unjustly accused. We are living in the midst of a spiritual war, and Satan will stop at nothing to damage our testimony and destroy our character. By doing so, he will make us ineffective witnesses for our faith.
