Matthew 13:44-46“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field. Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. Committing ourselves to a relationship with God and giving ourselves to his plan for us is the greatest work we can achieve in this life—and it has nothing to do with us. It is God’s accomplishment on our behalf, not an accomplishment of our own.

Romans 1:17This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

Revelation 3:20“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”

Accepting God’s gift of salvation, our accomplishment with the greatest eternal implications, doesn’t come from the work of our hands, but from God’s work in our hearts.
