In what ways is Jesus an expression of God’s abundant nature?

Colossians 2:9In Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.

All of God is in Jesus Christ, who came to earth just for us. In other words, God is giving all of himself to us and for us.

John 1:15-16John testified about him when he shouted to the crowds, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’” From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.

When Jesus was on earth, he was a living example of God’s abundant blessings to us. He even sacrificed his life for us so that we might experience blessing after blessing in eternity.

Matthew 14:19-21Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children!

Luke 5:5-7“Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.

When Jesus meets the needs of people, he always meets them in abundance. The depth of human need is satisfied in the fullness of God’s abundance.
