Why did God give me talents, abilities, and gifts?

Exodus 31:1-5Then the Lord said to Moses, “Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel . . . I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood.”

Our talents, abilities, and gifts are not random or accidental; they are part of the way God has uniquely designed us. God gave Bezalel talents as a craftsman and commissioned him to create beautiful objects for the Tabernacle. God most often does his work on earth through people, so he gives each person special gifts and talents. Every ability is useful to God, so we should use them for him. What talents has God given you? These abilities may become your full-time job, or they may simply be hobbies. Either way, God can use them to accomplish his purposes. To use what we enjoy doing to serve God is exciting and deeply satisfying.
