Heaven On The Way To Heaven

The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Most people anticipate their vacations with relish. We plan them, study the tour guides, book our reservations, and look forward to our time away.

The reality of eternal life on a new earth is more exciting than any trip or vacation, and with every passing day, our anticipation of heaven should grow brighter. How wonderful to visualize the great city of New Jerusalem with its gleaming walls and walkways, its translucent skyscrapers, its crystal river, and its centerpiece—the throne of God! No more pain, tears, suffering, or death!

But why wait?

Christians can experience heaven on the way to heaven. We have the King of heaven living in our hearts. We have the Word of God, more precious than gold, inscribed in our minds. We have the crystal river of the Holy Spirit flowing from our innermost being. The Kingdom of God is not eating or drinking; it is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

With Jesus living in our hearts, we can experience heaven on the way to heaven.

The hill of Zion yields a thousand sacred sweets before we reach the heav’nly fields or walk the golden streets.
