God Knows Everything

[God] reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.

Daniel 2:22

As has been rightly observed, there is much that we do not know and even more that we do not know that we do not know. It seems there is no end to the discoveries man makes about the mysteries revealed in the heights of the universe and the depths of the oceans. While scientists address those realms of knowledge, the average person is consumed with his or her own list of “don’t knows.”

Should I take that job? Should I marry that person? Why has this illness or calamity come into my life? What does the future hold? These questions are the stuff of life for most of us and can be a reason for either fear or faith. But if we can take one lesson from the experience of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, it is this: God knows the answer to every question and is perfectly capable of revealing it at just the right time. We may not have a dream that needs interpreting like Nebuchadnezzar, but the point is the same—God has the answers we need. When life presents questions that we cannot answer, we can turn to the One who has every answer.

Faith is a confession of trust, not a demand for an immediate answer. Let your confidence be in God, whatever His answer may be.
