Body Armor

Body Armor

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians 6:11

Jeff O’Dell, a graduate of the University of Virginia, had a personal interest in his undergraduate research. During his time at the university, the biomedical and mechanical engineering student, who is also a soldier, worked on a new type of body armor for American soldiers. Most body armor can be damaged by a single bullet, but the vest designed by O’Dell and his fellow students should be able to withstand as many as thirty-two rounds per plate. When interviewed by the Richmond-Times Dispatch, O’Dell said, “It could not only save American lives, but my own life, too.”a

Even the best body armor won’t help the soldier who doesn’t wear it. Every day we need to wear the breastplate of righteousness, the boots of the gospel, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit, and the other essential pieces of soul armor in the arsenal of our God.

We have the best armor in the universe, if we’ll just wear it.

You live in that armor. You wear it like a T-shirt.
