The God Who Is Found

The God Who Is Found

“Call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you.”

Jeremiah 29:12–14

I meet Christians all over the world, most weeks of the year, and I learn about so many issues common to all of us. For example, I’ve learned that a large majority of Christ-followers feel dissatisfied with their spiritual condition—something that can be good if it pushes us to seek more of our loving God. I’ve also learned other universal insights like:

• New believers are eager to learn more but aren’t sure how to get started.

• Some believers are weary because of their busy lives or burned out after lots of hard work that didn’t seem to make a difference.

• Others have lost interest in attending a church that they see as irrelevant.

• Most long to know God’s power and His presence to a greater degree.

• Many others believe they aren’t qualified or gifted enough for God to use them in big ways.

If you feel that something is missing in your spiritual life but it’s not on this list, take a few minutes to articulate the problem. Whatever might be dissatisfying to you, God tells you, “Call on Me and come and pray to Me.” When we do, He promises, “I will be found by you.”

Thank You for this hunger that I’m feeling for You, Lord Jesus. Please show me where to find You, and lead me as I seek You.
