The Battle Is The Lord’s

“All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

1 Samuel 17:47

As a young man, David stepped out in faith, and the Lord used his victory of killing the giant Goliath to propel him toward his future. His act of bravery is inspiration for us to battle our own giants, to step out in faith in God’s power. And like David, whatever the outcome, our single step of faith may open or close doors in God’s plan to move us forward toward our destiny.

For David, killing Goliath gave him favor with King Saul, who made David a leader of the nation’s army. David’s military successes, in turn, earned him respect and even the adoration of the people. In God’s perfect timing David became Israel’s greatest king.

So where could your path lead if you faced your Goliath? God wants you to defeat the giants in your life. It’s time to fulfill all that He created you to be and destined for you to do. He’s filled you with purpose, and He wants you to live it out.

God, I choose to face my giants. Help me defeat them and move forward fulfilling all You’ve called me to do.
