Take A Breath

Take A Breath

The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Exodus 33:14

Busy, busy, busy. We are always so busy. We feel driven by the urgency of everyone else’s needs and demands—from our kids to our families to our jobs. But we can’t go on that way indefinitely. Take time today to pause and ask yourself: What things in my life can I replace with time for me in order to recharge and breathe?

I have found that the greatest gift I can give to my family and co-workers is a healthy me, and the only way I am able to do that is to take time to recharge my soul and spirit. I have to be very disciplined to set aside time for just me, and then use that precious time wisely!

Personally, I enjoy a bike ride, a walk on the beach, or a good book. For you, it might be sitting in a comfy chair, sipping a cup of coffee, and resting. It might be putting on your running shoes and going for a jog in the park. Or listening to music, gardening, cooking, or simply sitting on the porch, watching the sunset. Whatever refreshes your soul, take time today to recharge and regroup. You’ll find relief from mental confusion, emotional outbursts, and physical exhaustion if you simply stop, breathe, and lean in to the presence of God.

God, please teach me how to breathe and rest today. I lean in to You.
