Partnering With God

Partnering With God

Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations.

Revelation 15:3

If God wanted to, He could accomplish everything He wanted completed in a display of awesome power. After all, He created the heavens and the earth that way. But today, He chooses to use us to accomplish His new and exciting works with Him.

In the Bible story of God parting the Red Sea so the children of Israel could cross over, God could have slain Pharaoh’s army and melted the chariots before they got close enough to His people. But He used Moses instead to stretch out his staff and raise his hands for a miracle and to bring Him glory (Exodus 14).

In the Bible story of Peter walking on water, God could have turned the wild waves beneath Peter’s feet into solid rock, but instead He used a miracle to teach us about walking by faith (Matthew 14:22–33).

God’s goal in each of those miracles was greater than merely accomplishing a task. He invited people to partner with Him in order to show them His power. He wants His people to see His command over the physical world, recognize the reality of the divine, and worship Him, so we can be transformed by His presence. He lets us partner with Him, so we can know Him more fully, see His amazing works, and say with our ancestors, “Sing for joy to God our strength” (Psalm 81:1).

I am so grateful that You choose to partner with us, God! Thank You for letting us bear witness to Your glory!
