Despite The Odds

I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

Job 42:2

Once, when I faced a situation where the odds stacked against me were especially high, God reminded me that being in such a predicament never bothers Him in the least: “Yes, the odds are stacked against you. Overwhelmingly, in fact. Yes, the giant you’re facing can make you think there’s no way forward. But no odds and no giant can stop Me, and when you do My will, they can’t stop you either.”

God is always with us, always making a way for us to do His will. Yet that’s easy to forget in the face of overwhelming odds. But it’s still true.

Maybe you’re asked to speak at church but think, I can’t! I’m too shy. You want to volunteer at a homeless shelter, but your schedule tells you that you’re too busy. You want to give money or groceries to a family who has lost their home, but your checkbook says there’s not even enough in your account to pay your own bills. You want to make a career change and follow what you know is your calling, yet a voice inside mutters: Stay where you are. The risk is too high!

Whatever the odds stacked against you, it certainly will never stop what He wants accomplished through you!

Lord God, I like Your odds. You are infinite in power, knowledge, wisdom, love, kindness, faithfulness, patience, and everything good!
