All-sufficient Grace
All-sufficient Grace
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
In today’s world, we have so many places we can turn to when trials, tribulations, and weaknesses come—but as Christians, we should run to Jesus. When hard times come—and they will!—we must choose to run to God first and listen for His guidance. Instead of avoiding, panicking, having a breakdown, running to friends, denying the reality, or numbing the pain, we can run straight into the arms of our gracious and loving God.
Friend, God never sleeps nor slumbers, so there’s no point in both of you staying up all night. So cast your cares and anxieties over on Him (1 Peter 5:7). Peace that surpasses all understanding will keep you sane.
There are many small, positive things we can do to treat our symptoms during hard times. But if we rely on vitamins, exercise, counseling, “self-care,” lifestyle changes, or other such healthy interventions, we’ll find that they’re never fully sufficient. We’ll never get to the deepest root need: Jesus’ restoration of our soul. His grace and His power are the only things that are fully sufficient in our trials. After all, He has already won the ultimate victory for us at Calvary! We can face our challenges from a position of victory, because the victory has already been won.
Lord, thank You for Your all-sufficient grace not only during trials, but always.
