Right Start

Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning.

Psalm 59:16

Experts in the health and fitness field state that there are many benefits to exercising in the early morning before your day gets into full swing. These benefits include increased mental sharpness, more energy, and regulated appetite. If you are a morning exerciser, you no doubt have your own list of positive results from starting your day with a workout.

The same is true for those who begin each day with praise; they feel more focused on the Lord throughout the day and more content with what God has given them, and they exude joy that comes from setting their minds on God’s goodness before their day begins.

Scripture tells us to “set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God” (1 Chronicles 22:19), and it stands to reason that if we spend a few moments praising God each morning, our day will have a firm foundation in Christ and we can meet whatever comes our way with His wisdom, strength, patience, and joy.

Before we engage ourselves in His work, let’s meet Him in His Word . . . in prayer . . . in worship.
