Make Your Service Count
Make Your Service Count
If anyone serves, they should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 4:11, NIV
USMC First Sergeant David Bishop (retired) entered the military with the motivation to serve his country and fulfill his patriotic duty. When it was time for retirement, Dave decided to pledge his service to a different authority and serve his country with a new motivation. He would visit new recruits, 250 at a time, and present the gospel to them, making sure his continued service to the country would count for eternity. To this day, he visits new recruits with the motivation of winning their hearts for Christ.
If you are a child of God, you have been given marching orders from the Lord to serve with the motivation of sharing the good news of the gospel. Are you following those orders, or have you gone AWOL (absent without leave)?
Through Jesus’ death on the cross, He left us His perfect example of serving to save souls. The King of kings offered His life so we could spend eternity with Him. If you have lost your vision for the unsaved souls of this world, ask God to open your eyes and your heart to the ways you can serve in an effort to save.
Lord, point out to me the lost souls that need saving, and show me how I can serve them.
