A Prayer for the Annunciation

O God who makes the impossible possible,

We remember today

That You call us by name,

Much like Your angel did to Mary

So many years ago,

Intertwining God and humanity

In ways we still can barely fathom.

O God who makes the impossible possible,

May we go about our days,

The quiet, tucked-away moments of parenting,

Remembering the mystery

And the miracle

That You live in

And through us.

O God who makes the impossible possible,

We pray for our children,

That they would walk in the steps

Of the young girl so many years ago

Who courageously believed,

Who bravely trusted You.

May our children bear witness to Your glory

In their own lives,

With all devotion and honor and praise to You.

O God who makes the impossible possible,

You have done great things,

And indeed, are still doing great things today.

Remember Your promises of mercy

For generations to come.

And may we raise our children

So that their souls may glorify You, O Lord,

And so that their spirits may rejoice in You—

You, O God,

Who makes the impossible possible.
