God’s Gifts To You

God’s Gifts to You

He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.

James 1:18

Did you know that your voice is as unique as your fingerprint and there is no voice exactly like yours? God has carefully designed each of us. There is nothing happenstance or random about how he has created each person, including you! The Lord had something special in mind when he gave some people visual, artistic talent and others perfect pitch and the ability to compose music. Every good gift is from God, the first chapter of James says. One gift is not better than another. He gives some people melodious voices and others the ability to teach. He gives leadership talent or gifts of mercy and compassion to still others.

God had something special in mind when he made you—your body, your soul, your personality, your talents, and your brain. Everything about each of us was carefully thought out and designed. He had songs he wanted sung, organizations he wanted started and managed. There were messages he wanted hands on earth to write. He wanted stained-glass windows created to provide a glimpse of glory as the sun shines through, marvelous paintings and colorful gardens to fill the world with beauty and reflect his love and creativity. So God gave gifts to men and women to accomplish these and many other purposes. What we do with those gifts and our lives is our gift to the Creator. —CHERI

What more can I say to you for your gifts than thank you, my God and Savior! Thank you for making me, for choosing me to be your child, and for having a purpose for my life. Help me to be aware of your plans and to make my life a gift to you.

What you are is God’s gift to you. What you make of yourself is your gift to God.
