God In The Brackets
God in the Brackets
The Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen. 2 Timothy 4:18
Every spring, it happens—March Madness. The NCAA basketball tournament. A collection of extraordinary teams and games where the watchword is simply “survive and move on.” Most years it seems as though the eventual winner had at least one game where they simply escaped with a win, allowing them to move on in the single-elimination tournament. The more you think about it, this basketball tournament is a lot like life, which I suspect is why people get so passionate about it. Sometimes, in basketball tournaments and in life, it’s just about hanging on.
I don’t know what you’re facing today. I don’t know how long you’ve been facing it. I don’t know the disappointments or heartaches you are holding close in your heart. I don’t know the failures or shortcomings you’ve experienced and can’t seem to get past to move on with your life. I’ll bet there are times you can’t even see past the glare of problems blinding your eyes, when you don’t feel like you deserve to see the light of a brand-new day. But I do know that for you—as well as for me—there is someone who cares and whom God will use to open up a hole for daylight to shine on all the turmoil you are facing. Somewhere there is someone God will use to help you hang on to what may seem to be the end of your rope.
So no matter what’s going on in your life, wait just a moment longer. Look around and you’ll see them—people who are there for you. Like a “Cinderella team” in the Final Four, it may be those you least expected. But they are sent by Someone who is always there for you: “I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me” (Psalm 16:8).
Indeed, He is.
Uncommon Key > God will not leave you alone, no matter what you are going through. Believe it, hang on, and watch what He will do for you.
