You Know . . . He Knows
You Know . . . He Knows
The LORD’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.
Proverbs 20:27
How many times have you caught yourself saying in a conversation, “You know, . . .” or “You know what?” It’s surprising how often we use those words, whether we are sharing information or not!
I find today’s enlightening proverb both convicting and comforting. Our God knows everyone inside and out. Just think how much information He has on each one of us. No computer could handle that amount of data. The Creator of every living thing, who knows even the number of grains of sand on every ocean floor, seashore, and swirling in the surf, knows what is really going on inside each of us.
Because His light penetrates your spirit and mine, we do not have to worry about how our prayers come out. Our praises, requests, conversations, desires, ugly thoughts, and tattling are all plain as day to Him.
He sees our hearts, and we cannot hide from Him. Since He is always with us, we can honestly say—even when we feel in the dark or ashamed about something—“You know, Lord. You know, Lord.”
The Lord knows all that is going on in our human spirits and understands our failings and has also felt every feeling. He really understands. The Lord needs no clarifications or summaries. We can rest peacefully, despite our weaknesses, knowing He sees when our heart wants to be like His, and He offers us endless grace each time we fall short.
Even though He sees our thoughts and feelings, God still loves to hear from us. Talk to Him today: “Lord, thank You for knowing everything about me and still loving me.”
