Sweet Mail
Sweet Mail
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!
Psalm 139:17-18
Better than e-mail, bulk mail, junk mail, and bills is sweet mail! Sweet mail tells you that someone is thinking of you. Think how you go through your mail. Which letters do you always open first? The personal ones, I imagine. The ones addressed in handwriting you recognize!
As delightful as it is to receive an unexpected note in the mailbox, there is something even more wonderful I want to share with you. Someone is thinking of you today. Someone who says His thoughts are so many toward you that they would outnumber the grains of sand. Let that image soak into your spirit. That’s a whole lot of thoughts specifically about you. This Person perpetually thinking of you is perfect and loving. How precious it is to have the only perfect, always loving Person thinking about you and me all the time.
It’s as if each one of our mailboxes is crammed full every day with personal handwritten “I’m thinking of you today” cards. The sweet mail would be so abundant that we would be called by the post office because it would be impossible for them to deliver it all; yet it would also be impossible for us to open them all in a day. Each and every card is signed, “I’m yours, Jesus Christ.”
Draw a heart on a sheet of white paper, color it pink, and place a Band-Aid on it. Write a note to a hurting friend on the heart and deliver it soon. And don’t forget to write a sweet-mail letter to God. He deserves one most of all.
