Changed
Changed
This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.
Colossians 1:6
Over the years I have appreciated what I’ve learned from reading women’s magazines—skills such as how to arrange furniture, pick out a paint color, make a fruit smoothie, or apply brow powder. But honestly, nothing major in my life was ever really changed by reading a women’s magazine.
On the other hand, I am changed as I grow to know Christ better each day through His Word. He promises that His infallible Word always produces fruit and accomplishes all He wants. It prospers everywhere He sends it (Isaiah 55:11). When I get a daily dose of what God has to say and walk by faith in His strength, He works His life-changing transformation in me.
I love to try new products and change things around from time to time. Getting a new chair for the living room adds a fresh look to our home. A new lipstick color rejuvenates me. But there are other changes that unsettle me, especially if they are unexpected and take me through tough times or require me to step far out of my comfort zone.
But God created us with His heart for greater purposes beyond our own plans. Living for Him means having an openness to let Him do things differently in us. If He knows our current path doesn’t lead to His best for us, He may reroute us another way. We can trust that His changes are always for our best as He leads us on an adventure that will glorify Him.
When we allow Him in His wonderful grace to have His way in us, we are assured of a life that fits who He created us to be.
Let’s thank the Lord today for changing us and making us ready for His greater purpose for us. We can trust Him to be there when we are steered out of our comfort zones.
