Meditation Moment: Hebrews 13

Meditation Moment: Hebrews 13

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6

“If I just had more money, I would be satisfied, and I would never have to be afraid of anything ever again!” That’s what a lot of people think, but it certainly isn’t true.

Today as you meditate on these verses, the challenge will be to figure out how money and God’s commitment to you are connected.

How would knowing God will never abandon you help you not love money?

If the Lord is your helper, how does that help you not be afraid?

Why do people think money will give them total freedom from fear?

I have an idea that God has a lot he wants to teach you today through these verses, so go ahead and dig right in!

Take time to talk to God about your desire and to hear his voice about Hebrews 13:5-6 today. Then, after you read through the verses a couple of times, be still for a moment and wait for God to give you a juicy tidbit of truth for today. Once you feel that God has shared something with you, write it down. Don’t forget to thank him for teaching you today.

Girl Gab: Now share what you’ve learned with your mom. Have a chat with her about money and being satisfied with what you have. Tell God “thank you” that since he’s with you, you don’t have to be afraid.
