Meditation Moment: 1 Timothy 1

Meditation Moment: 1 Timothy 1

This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”

1 Timothy 1:15

Christmas day is so incredibly soon! Woot! Woot!

Even though I’m sure you’re really excited, I want you to take a Meditation Moment today to discover why Jesus came to the earth in the first place.

He didn’t come so we could get lots of presents.

He didn’t come so we could find good deals at the mall.

He didn’t come so that we could feel warm and fuzzy while we sing Christmas carols.

He didn’t come so we could enjoy our grandmother’s homemade apple pie.

He didn’t come so you could have time off from school for Christmas vacation.

The reason he did come is found in 1 Timothy 1:15. This verse says that he came to save you. Remember how he did that? He died on a cross in terrible pain so that you and I don’t have to be separated from our God but can live with him eternally. Pray and ask God to give you even more understanding about why he sent Jesus to the earth and what that means for you during a very commercialized Christmas season. After you read the verse, hang out for a bit with God, and let him talk to you. When you feel like he’s told you something during your meditation time, go ahead and write it down.

Girl Gab: So what’s the answer? Tell your mom what you learned about why Jesus came to the earth. Remind each other of that reason as you go through the holiday season.
