Meditation Moment: 1 John 4

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8

God’s love doesn’t mean that he just gives you everything you want. Since he knows everything about you and what’s best for you, he loves you by giving you what you need.

We need to grab onto God’s love so we can truly love others. As you meditate on these verses today, ask God to help you understand his love more and more so you can give that love to others.

Take a moment to pray that God would open your heart and mind to the truth of 1 John 4:7-8. Read the verses over a few times. Wait a couple of minutes and see if God speaks to you through a thought, idea, or picture. Use the space below or grab a journal to record what God teaches you today.
