How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!

Psalm 139:17-18

I love, love, love going to the beach! The sound of the waves crashing relaxes me. The seagulls and crabs make me giggle. Discovering beautiful shells makes me feel like I’ve found a treasure. I love to push my feet down into the sand and feel all the little grains massage my toes.

Yes. The shore of the ocean is truly spectacular. Except as much as I adore the sand, it gets everywhere! No matter how much I rinse off, dust off, and shake off, I still manage to take buckets of sand home in my suitcase every single time.

Have you ever tried to count a handful of grains of sand? How many did you count before you gave up? No one’s been able to find out exactly how many grains of sand there are in the world. Some have guessed, but they couldn’t come up with anything definite. All the grains of sand are absolutely uncountable, just like God’s thoughts about you.

He has so many thoughts about you that you couldn’t even begin to count them all. It’s entirely overwhelming. Knowing that your Creator is that crazy for you should make you feel like you’re all wrapped up in a cozy blanket today.
