How does God restore me to himself after I have sinned?

God’s Response

“My wayward children,” says the LORD, “come back to me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.” Jeremiah 3:22

You will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean! Micah 7:19

“Come now, let us argue this out,” says the LORD. “No matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can remove it. I can make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you as white as wool.” Isaiah 1:18

God restores you when you confess your sins and you are forgiven. After he forgives, he tramples your sin under his feet, throws it into the ocean depths, removes the stain, and makes you as clean as new snow. He looks at you as though you had never sinned. God is in the restoration business. He longs to heal your broken heart and redeem your broken life.

God’s Promise

The LORD says, “Then I will heal you of your idolatry and faithlessness, and my love will know no bounds, for my anger will be gone forever!” Hosea 14:4
