Renewal

Renewal

Spring makes me think of new life and renewal. In what ways can God renew me?

God’s Response

The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Psalm 19:7

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 2 Corinthians 4:16

In its place you have clothed yourselves with a brand-new nature that is continually being renewed as you learn more and more about Christ, who created this new nature within you. Colossians 3:10

Most of us will admit that we are not the person we really want to be. We’re not as disciplined, thoughtful, productive, loving, or caring as we would like. In fact, some parts of our life don’t just need tinkering, but a fresh start. When you become a follower of Jesus, he promises the renewal that brings peace, joy, and a whole new perspective on life. Jesus offers to redeem your thoughts, attitudes, habits, regrets, and relationships. You can become, over time, the kind of person that God wants you to be and that you deep down want to be as well.

God’s Promise

I long to obey your commandments! Renew my life with your goodness. . . . I will never forget your commandments, for you have used them to restore my joy and health. Psalm 119:40, 93
