Regrets
Regrets
As this year ends, I have some regrets. How do I deal with them?
God’s Response
I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Philippians 3:13-14
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?”“No!” Jesus replied, “seventy times seven!” Matthew 18:21-22
What this means is that those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17
As you approach the end of the year, it’s natural to look back and reflect on different events. Some memories bring smiles, but others bring regrets. Now is a good time to clean house, that is, to confess to God what needs to be confessed, apologize and make amends to those you have wronged, and then leave the pain behind. Forget the failures of the past and move forward into the new year with expectation and excitement.
God’s Promise
If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. 1 John 1:9
