Pleasing God

In what ways can I give God pleasure?

God’s Response

The one who sent me is with me —he has not deserted me. For I always do those things that are pleasing to him. John 8:29

It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying. . . . But before he was taken up, he was approved as pleasing to God. So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:5-6

We please God when we obey the instructions found in his Word. God’s laws are not designed to burden people or to stifle their fun, but to free them to enjoy life in security and safety. Obeying God protects us from evil that God knows about, leads us on right paths where we will find blessing, and directs us into service that will please him.

God’s Promise

His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure. Ephesians 1:5
