Intercession

Intercession

Does it make a difference when others are praying for me or when I am praying for others?

God’s Response

He will rescue us because you are helping by praying for us. 2 Corinthians 1:11

The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results. James 5:16

Paul was convinced that the Corinthians’ prayers vitally influenced his deliverance by God. Intercession is praying for the needs of others. It is easy to become discouraged if you think that there is nothing anyone can do for you —or nothing that you can do to help someone you care about. But the most important thing that you can do for others, and others can do for you, is to pray. In ways beyond our understanding, intercessory prayer creates a channel into which the love and power of God can be released, as well as creating a deep bond of fellowship between human beings. Intercession is thus a vital source of hope and help.

God’s Promise

We fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer. Ezra 8:23
