Impatience
Impatience
What common mistake might I make in handling my problems?
God’s Response
Sarai, Abram’s wife, had no children. So Sarai took her servant, an Egyptian woman named Hagar, and gave her to Abram so she could bear his children. Genesis 16:1-2
One common mistake is giving in to impatience. You may trust that God will handle the situation, but when the answer seems slow in coming, you may decide that God needs a bit of help. Sarai knew that she was to have a child, but God waited twenty-five years to make this promise come true. In the meantime, Sarai took matters into her own hands and created a mess. When you trust God, you must trust him completely, even if it means having to wait.
God’s Promise
These things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. Habakkuk 2:3
