Emptiness

Emptiness

I know this is a wonderful season of the year, but I feel so empty. How can I fill that emptiness?

God’s Response

In the few days of our empty lives, who knows how our days can best be spent? And who can tell what will happen in the future after we are gone? Ecclesiastes 6:12

Don’t let anyone lead you astray with empty philosophy and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the evil powers of this world, and not from Christ. Colossians 2:8

Jesus replied, “People soon become thirsty again after drinking this water. But the water I give them takes away thirst altogether. It becomes a perpetual spring within them, giving them eternal life.” John 4:13-14

By now you may already be overly busy with extra shopping, baking, and decorating. You may do a lot and accomplish much, but after a while it all feels empty and meaningless if there is no lasting purpose behind what you do. A heart without God is an empty heart. Don’t confuse accomplishment with purpose. During this coming Christmas season, focus on the reason for it. The Christ child who came wants to fill your heart with real meaning and purpose.

God’s Promise

You know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited. 1 Peter 1:18
