Distress

Distress

How do I talk to God when I am in trouble?

God’s Response

In my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry reached his ears. Psalm 18:6

The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. Psalm 34:17

God hears every prayer that you think or say. He also responds —not always in the way that you want him to, but always in a way that will make you stronger and wiser. A muscle grows only when it works against a greater weight. Your character will grow as it struggles with things that seem too much for you. When you are in distress, ask God to help you learn from the experience. Make the most of the opportunity to give the muscles of your character enough exercise.

God’s Promise

When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them. Psalm 91:15
