Coping
Coping
How do I cope when others fail me or hurt me?
God’s Response
I have thought deeply about all that goes on here in the world, where people have the power to hurt each other. Ecclesiastes 8:9
Stop putting your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. How can they be of help to anyone? Isaiah 2:22
We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going. 2 Corinthians 4:9
People have the capacity to hurt one another —and it happens all the time. The potential for hurting each other can increase during the holidays, as people are extra busy and stressed. Even beloved friends and family can get on your nerves at this time of year. During these stressful days, everyone needs an extra measure of grace, strength, and peace of mind. God promises to supply those without hurting your feelings. If you want a friend who will never fail you, trust the One who will always love you. This doesn’t mean that you should distrust everyone, especially family and friends who are usually trustworthy. But understand that even people who love you will disappoint you. That makes God’s faithfulness even sweeter.
God’s Promise
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34
