Contentment

Contentment

How can I find contentment regardless of life’s circumstances?

God’s Response

Listen, and I will tell you where to get food that is good for the soul! Isaiah 55:2

O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you. . . . You satisfy me more than the richest of foods. Psalm 63:1, 5

How wonderful it is, how pleasant, when brothers live together in harmony! Psalm 133:1

God blesses those who realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them. Matthew 5:3

The Bible repeatedly teaches that our deepest contentment and joy do not come from the pursuit of happiness, pleasure, or material wealth but in the pursuit of an intimate relationship with God. You can serve God by serving others with his love. The harder you focus on pleasing yourself, the more you will miss it. The more you take the focus off yourself, the more content you will be.

God’s Promise

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3
