Pride

Pride

What is the difference between healthy and unhealthy pride?

God’s Response

You have been deceived by your own pride because you live in a rock fortress and make your home high in the mountains. Obadiah 1:3

May I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 6:14

It’s okay to feel proud of a job well done when you have honored God in your task. Pride is appropriate when you feel a grateful satisfaction for what God is doing through you. Then your focus is on him and not on yourself. People with unhealthy pride often think that they know everything, think more highly of themselves than they should, and are blinded to their vulnerability to temptation. Healthy pride is being thankful to God for all he has given—your talents and treasure—that you can use for his glory.

This Is Promising

If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. 1 Corinthians 10:12
