Gentle Strength

Gentle Strength

Is it possible to be both gentle and strong in heart?

God’s Response

Never before had there been a king like Josiah, who turned to the LORD with all his heart and soul and strength. 2 Kings 23:25

Love the LORD your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul. Joshua 22:5

You will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the LORD gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart! 1 Chronicles 22:13

It is a myth that being gentle means being weak. On the contrary, it takes strength to humbly obey God when you are tempted to sin. It takes great courage to serve others through acts of kindness when you don’t feel like it. Don’t mistake power for strength. Power tries to control. Strength is the resolve not to control but to love no matter what. The biblical concept of strength is power under the control of love.

This Is Promising

Having hope will give you courage. Job 11:18
