How can I use my own personal experiences to tell others about God?

God’s Response

Moses told his father-in-law about everything the LORD had done to rescue Israel from Pharaoh and the Egyptians. He also told him about the problems they had faced along the way and how the LORD had delivered his people from all their troubles. “Praise be to the LORD,” Jethro said . . . “I know now that the LORD is greater than all other gods.” Exodus 18:8, 10-11

You will be able to tell wonderful stories to your children and grandchildren about the marvelous things I am doing. Exodus 10:2

I will teach you hidden lessons from our past—stories we have heard and know, stories our ancestors handed down to us. We will not hide these truths from our children but will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the LORD. Psalm 78:2-4

If Bible stories about people we’ve never met teach us about God, how much more can your personal experiences be used to explain God to those you know? No one can argue with what you have experienced. Telling stories about what God has meant to you is one of the most powerful ways to attract others to believe in God too.

God’s Challenge

Jesus said, “No, go home to your friends, and tell them what wonderful things the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” Mark 5:19
