Supervision

How should I treat the people who report to me?

God’s Response

Never take advantage of poor laborers. . . . Pay them their wages. . . . Otherwise they might cry out to the LORD against you, and it would be counted against you as sin. Deuteronomy 24:14-15

Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters. “The LORD be with you!” he said. “The LORD bless you!” the harvesters replied. Ruth 2:4

You masters must treat your slaves right. Don’t threaten them; remember, you both have the same Master in heaven, and he has no favorites. Ephesians 6:9

God expects you to hold yourself to higher standards than those you require of your workers. Never take advantage of your employees. Pay them fairly and promptly. Encourage your workers. Thank them for jobs well done. Never lead through intimidation. Apologize when you are wrong. In short, treat your employees as you would want to be treated. Though you fulfill different roles in business, you are all equals before God.

God’s Challenge

Do for others what you would like them to do for you. Matthew 7:12
