Success

Success

How can I be successful?

God’s Response

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Joshua 1:7

Commit your work to the LORD, and then your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3

Throughout the Bible, complete obedience to God’s Word is the key to success. Conversely, selective obedience undermines success, for it lulls us into thinking that we have fully obeyed. A “little sin” is still a sin, and a little disobedience is still disobedience (read James 2:10). God urges us to keep all of his laws. We can fall into the trap of thinking that we are good Christians because we follow God’s commands generally, while in fact we are ignoring or revising certain commands that seem inconvenient. Selective obedience is obeying on our terms; full obedience is obeying on God’s terms. Are you sold out to God or selectively obedient?

God’s Promise

Happy are those who fear the LORD. Yes, happy are those who delight in doing what he commands. Psalm 112:1
