How can I see God in the midst of troubling circumstances?

God’s Response

When our enemies and the surrounding nations heard about it, they were frightened and humiliated. They realized that this work had been done with the help of our God. Nehemiah 6:16

Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask.” John 11:21-22

When darkness overtakes the godly, light will come bursting in. . . . Such people will not be overcome by evil circumstances. Psalm 112:4, 6

God created you, loves you, and longs to have a relationship with you. He pursues you with persistent and unfailing love and draws you to himself. Today, ask God to open your spiritual eyes to see how events, conversations, “chance” meetings, thoughts, and open doors are God’s hand reaching out to show you that he is nearby and at work in your life.

God’s Promise

God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God. Matthew 5:8
