What should be the basis for risk taking?

God’s Response

God said to Noah, . . . “Build a large boat.” Genesis 6:13-14

What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. God gave his approval to people in days of old because of their faith. . . . It was by faith that Noah built an ark to save his family from the flood. . . . It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. . . . Abraham believed that God would keep his promise. Hebrews 11:1-2, 7-8, 11

No great things happen without some risk. Noah risked his reputation by believing that God would flood the earth as he had said he would. Abraham left his home and country to go where God sent him. Those who walk close to God have evidence based on their past experiences that God is real and active in the lives of those who love him. God loves to accomplish the impossible in the lives of his people. Take him up on it.

God’s Challenge

Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who haven’t seen me and believe anyway.” John 20:29
