God’s Response

I will come like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan, leaping on the sheep in the pasture. I will chase Edom from its land, and I will appoint the leader of my choice. For who is like me, and who can challenge me? What ruler can oppose my will? Jeremiah 49:19

The lion has roared—tremble in fear! The Sovereign LORD has spoken—I dare not refuse to proclaim his message! Amos 3:8

One of the descriptions of God in the Bible is as the Lion of Judah, a fierce fighter on behalf of his people. He is the God who created all things, the God of lightning and thunder. He has flooded the entire earth, blinded whole armies, and rained burning sulfur from the sky against those who opposed him and his people. But God uses this same power to come to the aid of his people who declare their faith and loyalty in him. If you are under attack from the enemy, call upon God’s mighty power to rescue you.

God’s Promise

Someday the people will follow the LORD. I will roar like a lion, and my people will return trembling from the west. Hosea 11:10
