Plans

Plans

If God has a plan, why should we plan?

God’s Response

Joseph’s suggestions were well received by Pharaoh and his advisers. As they discussed who should be appointed for the job, Pharaoh said, “Who could do it better than Joseph? For he is a man who is obviously filled with the spirit of God.” Genesis 41:37-38

What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” James 4:15

We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

Joseph’s willingness to use his gifts to help the Egyptians plan for seven years of famine allowed God’s plan to be fulfilled. While asking God to bless our plans, we should be willing to use our gifts and abilities to join him in his plans. What a privilege when God uses us in the implementation of his intentions! How do you know what plans God wants you to be a part of? The first step, like Joseph, is to have an open mind and an obedient heart. The path of obedience will always take you in the right direction. Plan to become part of God’s plan.

God’s Promise

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
