Money
Money
What is a proper perspective toward money?
God’s Response
If we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is at the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:8-10
Money can be dangerous because it represents wealth, power, and status. It can wield extraordinary influence. The Bible says that money itself is not sinful, but that the love of money leads to sin. Money must never take the place of God. Instead of viewing money as yours to use as you wish, view it as God’s, to use as he wishes. God understands the importance of providing for the needs of your family and for the future, as well as of enjoying life with family and friends. He also expects you to generously help others.
God’s Challenge
Give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. Proverbs 30:8
