Kindness

Kindness

Is kindness overrated? Why should I be kind to others?

God’s Response

Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

Love is patient and kind. 1 Corinthians 13:4

When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don’t go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans, and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do. Deuteronomy 24:19

Kindness is an act of love, and after loving God, loving others is the next greatest command. A simple but profound truth is that God blesses you for acts of kindness in ways that are best for you. You may think that having more money would be a great blessing, but God may know that a close friendship, a deeper relationship with him, or victory over a bad habit may be more valuable. As our kindness toward others blesses them, we in turn will be blessed by God’s kindness.

God’s Challenge

Never let loyalty and kindness get away from you! Wear them like a necklace; write them deep within your heart. Proverbs 3:3
