How can I be more joyful?

God’s Response

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Philippians 4:4

I am overcome with joy because of your unfailing love, for you have seen my troubles, and you care about the anguish of my soul. Psalm 31:7

Always be joyful. 1 Thessalonians 5:16

There are areas of the Christian life that are very serious—confronting sin and its consequences, church discipline, fighting evil. But there is also great delight in knowing that the God of the universe loves you, has a plan for you, and made this wonderful world for you. In fact, he tells you to serve him enthusiastically. The Bible urges you to serve God with all of your being—with an enthusiasm that comes from deep within your heart and soul. Joy and enthusiasm light the fire of service.

God’s Promise

You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him, you trust him; and even now you are happy with a glorious, inexpressible joy. 1 Peter 1:8
