Friendship
Friendship
A lot of my friends are not Christians. How can I be a good friend to them?
God’s Response
I, the Son of Man, feast and drink, and you say, “He’s a glutton and a drunkard, and a friend of the worst sort of sinners!” Matthew 11:19
You are the light of the world—like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all. Matthew 5:14-15
Jesus gave you an example by how he lived. He didn’t avoid unbelievers; instead, he made friends with them and sought their company. He did this to influence them with the love of God. Don’t condemn your friends that do not believe. Instead, encourage them with the strength and commitment you display through Christ. You can learn a lot from them without being influenced to follow lifestyle choices that are contrary to God’s ways.
God’s Challenge
Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32
